Lets say I want to use the temp ban command and I have different lengths of ban times.

Player A = 2 weeks, trash talking vulgarian
Player B = 1 years, repeat potty mouth
Player C = 2 years, clanmate pouching or recruiting for rival clan
Player D = 3 days, cursed out an Admin or got into flame war with clanmate
Player E = 1 day, first offense glitcher

Back in the old days I would kick first then perma on second or third offensive. I think a temp ban would be enough for anyone who is not server crasher or hacker.

so b3 command would be like?

!tempban PlayerD language 4320            (3 days in minutes)

Knew a clan that clan banned two clans for breaking no recruiting rule. Most clans will clan ban those who recruit for other clans on their server.

I don't think it's possible to temp ban someone for more than 2 hours. You will have to perm ban the player and unban him manually after 2 hours or longer.

PHZU has a point, the game is dead so we can't just perma ban first offensive for minor stuff like glitchers, potty mouths etc.

EURO is top 1.5 by far. All the other "top" public CoD1 servers are just barely avoiding flat-lining. Most skilled rifles only clans don't even have a public home server. the2gaming, Inspire and inAction got a sizeable roster but even they might struggle to populate a 10 slot server regularly.

Resurrection (my clan) is considering setting up a CoD1 server. 8-10 slots, I'm not throwing big money per month into this when we will probably get 2-6 players on average (when populated) maybe 8 at peak. It's just me most the time and Pinky sometimes. Maybe Efx, Singo, Knotty and Slutty will make a comeback who knows.

i never understood why people bother so much about recruitment.

if a clan can get people in their team, better for the game in my eyes.

more clans = more scrims = more fun

You're about to set up a server of 8-10 slots. Why don't you make it a war server then. I do not think there are many people who'd like to play on a server against 7 other players...

Your money, your decision. I just don't see that working, I am sorry matey.

EURO should encourage people to start clans (allowing recruitment on your server, steam is crap) Euro is more a community than a clan these days I dont see why not?

I am actually not sure if a second server is gonna do good, or gonna do bad. neither for us (EURO) as for the game in total.

It might make return some old player, but it might also make a bad change because there wont be enough players on both our servers.

If you decide to make a server on your own, I will defenatly join now and then to see how things are going and to give some support

Server is up, I just need to set the time limit for map change once we agree on 20 or 30 mins etc.

It's running PlusIce's Rifles Only Version 2. An old rifles only mod I made years ago. Will tinker with mod later on like add AWE and or PAM goodies. My goal at this point is to make the mod better but at same time not a carbon copy of EURO's Mod.

Why not just come and play on our server instead of struggling to get people in? What's the fun in 3v3 ? 

I dont see Singo and Efxitive come back soon as they recently had a baby if i'm correct.

EDIT: just some questions:

- Why is there a MP44 (if I am right about the kind of gun)
- why can't you see your bullets?
- Why are there grenates if you can't use them?

Saint and Ice cold,

1) Actually I'm into small battles. A 3v3 or 1v1 requires much more skill and planning to pull off. But on the flip side verse EURO with 20+ players I'll take my chances in a harder small battle instead of latency problems with a server filled to the rim.

2) I get to actively work on the mod. Sure EURO has a good mod but I believe mod competition is good. Keeping my mod publicly released so others can test and transplant work into their mods.

3) Version 2 is still only a client side mod. It has no custom server side scripts. Next release is going to be AWE integrated with grenades and pistols completely disabled.

4) Can't see bullets. Shells not ejecting or mussleflashes not showing up near firing end of rifle? I messed up the mussleflashes in some of my earlier mods, will double check weapon files.

6) MP44 shows up when hidden bolts.cfg (inside pk3) is not loaded. Next version will disable all non-bolts by default via server scripts and weapon selection menus.

5) Efx and Singo will be back in a few months.

I got no complaints about EURO or their servers. I just prefer medium to small battles and would like to actively develop a mod to expand my knowledge of C Programming.

hey crazy coder! I like what you did with your mod and think this is gonna work out once the server gets a bit known.

The good thing about a smaller server is indeed, as you say, that you can have smaller battles + you aint gonna make our server run empty like that I think it is a great addition to CoD!

I recently played again on your server and I must say, that springfielt bolt is a hell of a weapon! I like that you put it in

just 2 small concerns: - the red dot, do you mean to keep it or will it be removed? I think it is pretty anoying cause while aiming it actuallly blocks a spot in your view

- the sprint is quit long I tried it in carentan when no one was on, and I could run from german spawn to american spawn and halfway back while using sprint. A bit long, no?

I think you're doing great and I hope that soon there will be more ppl in your server aswell. You'll defenatly see me around there!

Sprint time lowered to 6 seconds from 60 seconds. There was a second cvar doubling the sprint length so I chopped the one number down to 3 making it 6 seconds.

Reddot is off now.
